I had a busy weekend, but it was all a lot of fun and I'm feeling great today - quite a feat for a Monday! ;) On Saturday I got a chance to volunteer at my animal shelter - we had some new kittens come in, and they were adorably confused at their new surroundings. (AWWWWW.)
I had to rush home and shower, because after that my sister and my mom and I went to see Mamma Mia! For those of you who are sadly uneducated in the ways of ABBA, they're a band that was very popular in the 70s/80s, and Mamma Mia is basically a musical mash-up of their most popular songs. It just came to Singapore, and seeing musicals is pretty much the pinnacle of my existence, so of course I jumped at the chance to watch it. :D I must say it wasn't the best one I've ever seen - the actress who played the main character wasn't incredibly well-casted - but the music was gorgeous and it was definitely worth going.
Sunday I spent at the library, catching up on homework and emails and working out Wordpress issues. They're slowly but surely getting resolved - I know some of you who subscribe to the website via email were having formatting issues, so those are fixed now! :D My bookstore romance is just shy of 8k words. I have pages and pages of character notes at this point - I'm really more focused on that aspect of it (developing characters, that is), so it's not progressing quite as quickly as usual. Oh well, I'm sure it'll pay off in the long run!
Also, on a slightly more sombre note, I'd like to ask a small favour of you guys. A fellow indie author passed away this weekend and his family is struggling with financial issues. On top of that, his daughter (around the same age as I am) is now without both of her caregivers, as her mother passed away a few years ago as well. It would mean the world to his family if you could perhaps buy one of his books and spread the word on social media, so that we might be able to alleviate the financial burden just a little bit. I know the community around here is wonderful, and we really need to rally together and help them out.
Lots of fun writing posts coming your way this week - stay tuned for more! xx
