Me Me Me Monday (38)

Hi all!

Monday once more! Thankfully, I managed to carve out some time to relax this weekend, which was a lovely reprieve from the more... harrowing week that preceded it. I read some books and listened to some music and went over to a friend's house to educate her on the fine nuances of Disney films. (She's grown up without watching the classics - which is to say, her childhood was completely and utterly ruined and this grievance could only be remedied by a Disney marathon. ;))

I also did some reading over the weekend - catching up on a book I've been working on over the past couple of weeks, QUIET: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain. This is the kind of book that one has to put down from time to time just to digest, which is possibly why it's taking me so long to finish; it's offered an incredibly insightful look into the world of introverts vs. extroverts. I've rarely read a book that understands me so well - it's almost uncanny, really, but no less welcome.

On the musical side, I've been playing Ben Howard's Every Kingdom on repeat. If you guys have listened to some of my playlists, you've probably heard his songs sprinkled in here and there - he has absolutely masterful lyrics, and his music complements it gorgeously. He's becoming one of my favourite artists, and I had quite a nice time exploring some of his lesser-known music. Definitely check it out if you have the chance; I promise you won't be disappointed.

Other lovely things that happened over the weekend:

i. I read a beautiful guest post on Oh, the Books! on the connection between writers and readers. ii. I rearranged my bookshelves. (Again.) (It is not a compulsion. I don't know what you're talking about. ;)) iii. My sister made hot chocolate, which was wonderful and cosy - even in sweltering Singapore.

How was your weekend, lovelies? Let's catch up in the comments! x

love, Topaz
