Friday Poetry: "Mistress of Seasons"

Hello friends! Just three days until Frozen Hearts is finished - ah, it's so close! I can't wait to share it with you all. But in the mean time, as you may have deduced from this post's title, I've decided to add a new section to the blog - Friday Poetry! Every Friday I'll share a new poem; I thought it would be a nice way to keep in touch with my love of poetry.

For today's post we have "Mistress of Seasons"Some of you might remember the poem I posted earlier, "Winter Kitten", and this is a bit of a companion to it. As always, constructive criticism is welcome! xx

Mistress of Seasons

The mistress of seasons banishes winter from her sight

she sheds her coat of snow and awakens her sleeping animals grows her hair long again, as the green leaves sprout

she lets the sun shine and sends away the clouds grows a soft blanket of flowers, to keep the her body warm

her voice lives in the robin’s song in the bees’ buzzing in the drip-drip-drip of her cleansing rain

her joy lives in the deer’s first uncertain steps in the tree’s first flower bud in the ducklings’ first swim

and you know she is here when suddenly unexpectedly without warning

spring arrives.
