Spur-of-the-Moment Submission

Hey guys! Well, today has been an oddly relaxing day.

For some bizarre reason, my teachers randomly decided to lay off the homework, so I had pretty much nothing to do all day. Result: I learned a couple new songs on the guitar, wrote a song of my own (which will be featured tomorrow!), and finished one of my books. It was very nice, and since tomorrow is Field Day at my school, there won't be any homework then either! :D

I also did something slightly scary and daunting today, and I'm not entirely sure why I did it. One of the lovely ladies in my critique group shared something called Simon451 with us on Facebook - it's a new division of Simon & Schuster, a publishing company. Currently they're accepting unsolicited manuscripts for speculative fiction books, and I decided to submit Frozen Hearts, just for the heck of it!

I really have no idea where this is going to go - because on the off chance I do get accepted, it will, of course, completely throw off self-publishing plans. Still, it was a bit of a spur-of-the-moment decision, so I'm seriously doubting that it'll get anywhere. I'm not really pinning my hopes on anything at this point; just sticking with the plan I originally had, and still have now. Acceptance/rejection letters are sent out in two months, so I'll definitely know by then! ;)

love, Topaz
