Hey all! I was going to post another chapter of Paper Wings or Shadows in the Night today, but unfortunately I've decided to go to bed early tonight - mostly because my entire family seems to be coming down with a cough/cold/illness thing and I really don't want to catch it as well! I've been having a bit of a lazy week in terms of homework - the teachers have basically given up hope on all of us and we're just killing time with busywork until school "officially" ends next week, so that's quite nice (although, today for some reason they all decided for some reason to pile on the homework, which is why I didn't get a chance to write). I've been working on a lot of Frozen Hearts stuff lately - I have a concrete list of things to do, which is a HUGE accomplishment, considering I'm hardly ever this organised! ;) And I'm pretty excited about Shadows - I've had quite a few ideas bouncing around in my brain for the past couple of days, so I'm going to sit down this weekend and actually do a proper outline so that I don't write myself into a brick wall with that.
In other news, today one pretty cool thing and one not-so-cool thing happened. Good news: it was my mom's birthday! :D Bad news: another amazing, inspiring, and altogether brilliant person by the name of Maya Angelou died. She was a very famous poet, journalist, and author - I love her work, but especially her poetry (one of my favourites is entitled I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings). Truly, I think it was a bit of a shock for the whole world... she was such a huge and vivacious person, it was kind of hard to imagine her ever passing away. Ms Angelou will indeed be missed. xx
This week's Friday Poetry will most likely be centred around that event, because Maya was such an inspiring person that I think she deserves some homage, even if it's just in my little corner of cyberspace. So I'll see you guys tomorrow - and until then, good night, all!
