Ello everybody! SO GUESS WHAT. Hazel just sent me an email to let me know that she's begun coding on the brand-new website coming up!! The final mockup was absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait for you guys to feast your eyes on it. I had a huge fangirl moment when I first saw it in which I sat there grinning like an idiot and then had to go dance around with Hachii... and I think one of us enjoyed it more than the other (no prizes for guessing who's who!). ;)
Plus, I found this great challenge on Mishka's blog today called the "Reading Fun Quick Five", which is just five short questions about the book you're reading right now. (Ahem. By the way, you guys should totally click on that link and check out Mishka's blog because she's pretty darn awesome. Just saying.)
So I love, love, love the idea of the challenge, but I decided to adapt it to my own purposes - the Reading Fun Quick Five has now turned into the Writing Fun Quick Five! (See what I did there?) I'll be answering five questions about Frozen Hearts today, because I'm sneaky and I like making you guys wait in suspense for the actual book instead of just giving it to you already. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. ;)
1. Which novel are you currently writing?
I'm working on Frozen Hearts at the moment!
2. What is the opening line of the book?
The opening line to FH has been tweaked and edited and changed SO MANY TIMES, and I'm actually really proud of the newest version (even though, if I'm being honest with myself, it'll probably change even more by the time the book is published!).
Nevertheless, the line is: "December 2nd brought the smell of winter."
3. What are the hero and heroine’s names?
Chase is the hero and Rosalyn is the heroine. :D
4. What is the first sentence of the second paragraph of Chapter 9?
Whoa, I just realised how long and dramatic this sentence is, haha ;) Oh well, here goes!
"And yet, perhaps the tiniest strand of luck had been able to worm its way into the crack underneath the door – because despite all odds, just when she was ready to open it once more and find Chase sitting on the bed, defeated, she heard a whoosh of air from within."
5. What other writing projects are you working on?
Oh gosh, SO MANY. The most notable ones, though, are the untitled sequel to Frozen Hearts, another novella/short story thing (I'm not actually sure what it's going to turn into yet, since it's so early in the process!) with the working title The Startling Fragility of Eternity, and a super-special-top-secret project with this person over here, which you guys will hopefully hear more about in the coming weeks! :D
Wow, that was so much fun. Thank you so much to Mishka for introducing me to this lovely challenge! <3 And if you want to take part in either the writing or the reading versions of it, please do link me your post in the comments - I would love to check it out. :D
